Welcome

My name is Eva Amezola and I teach yoga for social change.  I am a yoga instructor, social justice activist, educator, wellness coach, and academic counselor. I founded El Arbol de Vida (Tree of Life) in 2020 after many years of teaching and practicing yoga and meditation.  El Arbol de Vida focuses on helping individuals come back to wellness through the connection of body, mind, and spirit. These healing practices have transformed my life and the life of those that I serve.  I hope to bring you and the world a little healing through these ancient practices. I look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Previously, I worked with the Federal Department of Education’s Upward Bound Programs for twelve years where I oversaw college support programs and integrated social justice frameworks with yoga and mindfulness living.  I have dedicated my career to serving low-income and first-generation students and individuals from all walks of life.

I hold a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) in Latin American Studies & Spanish Literature and a Masters of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Multicultural Counseling and Social Justice Education from San Diego State University.  In addition to many years of her personal yoga practice, I have completed a 200-hour yoga educator training and a certificate in Engineering Health: Introduction to Yoga & Physiology.  My experience includes working with individuals and groups to achieve their life goals.
